Respect and professionalism

• All students must respect their peers, instructors, and classroom equipment at all times. Disruptive behavior or disrespect toward others will not be tolerated.
• Professional conduct is expected both in the classroom and during hands-on training sessions.
• The curriculum presented is suitable for repair technicians with professional experience. It is imperative to pay attention during class and complete assignments to obtain a passing grade.

Attendance and punctuality

• Students are expected to arrive on time for all scheduled classes, testing, and lab training sessions.
• Excessive unexcused tardiness or unexcused absences may result in failure, or in insufficient logged classroom/lab hours to satisfy BAR regulations.

Safety first

• Students must conduct themselves in a safe manner at all times. Automotive repair shops may have tripping and slipping hazards — be aware of your surroundings when navigating the premises.
• Any unsafe behavior, including improper handling of equipment or vehicles, will result in immediate intervention.
• Smoking or vaping in the training areas is prohibited.

Workplace etiquette

• Students are expected to maintain cleanliness of our facility. Pick up and dispose of any trash. Clean up after yourself, especially in the bathroom.
• This is a functioning auto repair facility — do not disturb anything that is not associated with the classroom teaching environment.
• Respect for shared resources is essential. Take care of classroom and shop tools, as they are valuable training aids.

Use of equipment and technology

• Classroom and shop equipment must be used responsibly. Mishandling or misuse of equipment will result in loss of privileges or further action.
• Any malfunctions or issues with equipment must be reported immediately to the instructor.
• Cell phones and personal devices should be kept on silent or vibrate mode during class. Cell phones may be used during break, before, or after class — not during class.

Homework and assignments

• Homework assignments must be submitted on time.
• If a student is struggling with the curriculum or the assignments, they should reach out to the instructor for guidance or assistance.
• Plagiarism or cheating will result in immediate disciplinary action.

Active participation

• Active participation is expected from all students during class discussions, practical exercises, and group activities.
• Students are encouraged to ask questions, seek help, and provide feedback on the curriculum.
• The instructor will keep open communication channels during class hours to assist with any additional learning needs.
• Students should come prepared to engage, ask questions, and share insights.

Certification requirements

• To earn certification, students must complete the required coursework, attend class and labs, and pass all assessments.
• Certification eligibility is contingent upon successful completion of all program requirements.

Disciplinary actions

• Furgerson's Automotive and Smog Training reserves the right to take disciplinary action for any violations of these policies, which may include warnings, suspension, or expulsion.

Cancellation / refunds

• A full refund requires 72 hours notice of cancellation before the start of the first course.
• Partial or prorated refunds up to a maximum of 50% of the tuition may be given on a case-by-case basis due to certain unforeseeable circumstances.
• No refunds will be issued for enrolling in a professional smog check and diagnostics training program due to a student's lack of basic professional automotive repair knowledge, or failure to follow any of the outlined classroom policies.
